I'm gonna have to take back my words for NVIDIA:
Cloned: Primary DVI + TV-Out = Works on both
Dualview: Primary DVI + Secondary VGA = Not working on VGA screen

But as you can read on the developers website it's because of the overlay method used, and there's nothing he can do about it (unless changing rendering method ofcourse). So basicly it's not a bug, just a limitation.

Since I use 3 screens (2 TFT desktop + 1 TV for bed) now I'm gonna have to regret having this limitation as well.

To let you know about viewing the TV display on a Secondary Adapter, it is not currently possible. It will only work on your primary display.

Whilst the developer appreciates this as a nice feature, it has to take a back seat to other more pressing issue on the development cycle. And yes it has been raised a number of times before.

Not correct. It works fine with my msi nvidia8600gt oc LCD + tvout setup.

Haha, yeah. I use the latest version currently linked somewhere in a post. Even though the latest version seems to work best of all. I experience hangs regularly but it's no big deal since ill simply start a new instance and have 3 tuners installed anyways. Usually happens when i switch channels too fast (before streaming), or it may take 3 min to 'autofix'.

Regarding the error (if that's the major bug youre talking about) i have also mailed you, some steps to reproduce (recordings also affected):
-20%- Go full screen with another app (not always causes it).
-100%- Have screensaver pop up by windows (myth doesnt seem to block it if checked and restarted)
-100%- CNTRL+ALT+DELL, lock your pc and enter password, unlock (maybe the numbers are caught as hotkeys ?)

maybe you can provide some details on this major bug so we can help trigger or test the cause.

Glad to hear you're still into the project. New job and family is more important ofcourse.

BTW what's an easy way to find the latest prerelease without having to check 2 different threads? Some kind of directory browsing or a global link would be useful for quite some of us I think. Eventually a RSS to stay up to date with the latest (maybe this can increase peope testing and you getting lots of useful feedback).

Subject: startup crash for inpatient people
Hi,

I discoved a startup crash for inpatient people (like me).

If you start MythTV 1.5.1 pre10 and directly click livetv before it fully load/connect it will crash.  Hopefully this can be fixed because I just keep making the same mistake over and over :P

I would presonally love OSD, configurable hotkeys and an improved goodlooking GUI (Take dscaler if you'd need some ideas). I have no jitter issues whatsoever on 2 pc's (E4300 @ 2,6Ghz; E4300 @ 3Ghz; on gigabit) or laptop T7300 (2.0GHz) wireless using pre10 deinterlacing on.

Maybe one thing that could be nice, a script or w/e to run on backend that can check for crashed frontend clients (say a network cable gets plugged out), so that it can drop the tuner (almost) immediately.

One thing that may be harder to accomplish is combing alltogether. SO that it can recognise when it goes recording and efficiently uses 1 tuner instead of 3 when (example: say 2 clients view 'channel 1' Live and channel '1' is being recorded) This would sure be very useful, but I can imagine this'd be one of the hardest tasks to accomplish in development (if you like challenges :P).

Subject: Menu bug
Hi,

I just found a littile bug and managed to reproduce it using MythTv Player 0.5.1 pre10 (Default winXP skin)
When I flood with right clicks and buttons 1/2/3 on viewing screen it usually gets bugged:
When you then go over the Toolbar of the windows your cursor stays black, and when you rightclick you open the 'menu' instead of windows menu. It shouldn't be too hard to reproduce, just spam some on the screen. This is quite annoying because it triggers two limitations: You can no longer move the window up or use the X (close) button.

Another possbile bug is that when you prefer another tuner, and switch channel this preference will not be applied. You need to 'release tuner' first.

And last is something strange, when you couldnt connect an IP window pops up, it's not really nice to look at (it pops up at current cursor location), and maybe it'd be better to remove this and just open Preference window instead or something. Although it's definately not a priority it may to good to consider.

Other than that 0.5.1 pr10 seems to work pretty damn well, so very good job and thank you very much for the great LiveTV. Keep the good work up!

I just managed to get a mythfrontend running inside VMWare:

The volume was raised from 90% to 100% but it's still to low; So I would definitaly love a custom MaxVolume (or something else) tag in the XML file

Sorry, my fault not describing it properly. It;s indeed the prefences option that breaks it. However when I didnt set the Path correct I cannot delete recordings, unregarding of the preferences setting.

my recordings have quite low volume mostly (comapred to other windows applications), such as msn when a popup makes a sound its double as loud because i had raised volume just to watch TV..

So heres my feature request:

Is there any possiblity to add a 200% volume maximum, If so, I would very much appreciate it if it could be added in future releases.

As soon as I enable samba shares, livetv will hang when startng buffering.

I was kind of surprised I didn't see any report of this on the forum, so now there is ;)

Other than that it seems to work just fine. (except deleting recordings when you didnt set samba URL properly, unregarding enabled or disabled)

Regards,
Bram
