Subject: LiveTV hangs system after playing for a couple of minutes
I am running version 0.5.0
LiveTV works well for a couple of a minutes then it starts rebuffering and essentially hangs my system for 10-15 minutes or so. Actually, it seems that it is just grabbing all the CPU cycles making it almost impossible to kill it or do anything else until I can finally get task manager up or find a way to click the close button.

This happens to me consistently. Now I am using this over a wireless connection but I don't lose overall connectivity in that my ssh sessions continue -- plus I have a really good connection anyway.

Any ideas about what might be happening?

Did you try the latest 0.5.1 (pre10)?

Yes. I tried it.
Still got a really NASTY hang last night.
After playing for about 20 minutes, the video/audio froze and the cpu usage climbed to effectively 100%, not allowing me to use any other program or even have the screen refresh.
MythTv player grabbed so much of the cpu usage that I couldn't even get the Task Manager to come up to kill it. Also the clicking the "x" in the upper right corner of the MythTv Player window failed to kill it.

Since I had some important files open, I didn't want to reboot so I waited overnight hoping that it would eventually give up some CPU power or at least allow the Task Manager box to finally come up so I could kill it manually.

8 hours later it was still hogging all the CPU power.
Even worse, after I rebooted, I had no disk space left since the log file had grown to 3.5GB!!!!!!

So, whatever is doing this is a really NASTY bug which for me at least will prevent me from playing with it any more until a patch is suggested since it plays havoc with my system.

Of course, the root cause is that Windoze sucks so bad in allowing a user space program to go so out of control...

more informations about your system might help.
anyway you can still do a check for network connection problems.

Same here system is a dell laptop with win XP . It works for ~10-20 minutes and then eats 100%cpu and shows "rebuffering 0%" .
I've to kill the process - no other way to get it closed.

Tried svn (0.5.1 pre10)
