Subject: USER32.DLL error on startup
I'm running Windows 2000, SP4, had DirextX 9.0a installed when I downloaded Version 0.5.0 of the Myth player for Windows. I unzipped it and ran the .exe and it came up with "The Procedure entry point GetRawInputDeviceList could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll".
I found nothing in these forums (which is why I'm posting this) but Google yielded this page" http://forums.clant2k.com/showthread.php?threadid=54868. Turns out I needed to FIRST install the Windows patch KB824141 (for Windows 2000, which MS does not support for free and had to Google "KB824141 2000" to find it), and THEN upgrade my DirectX. Not sure what would have happened if I updated DirectX without the patch.
Hope this helps if anyone else encounters this error.
DaveD.
P.S. Didn't really help me, though, 'cause I'm running Myth 0.21 trunk on my backend, which uses protocol 36 while this version of the player only supports up to 31. Looking forward to the next version. Thanks!
