Subject: Trying to get file from wrong IP
I did the following:
1. Set my host ip to 10.1.1.54.
2. launched player
3. got a list of my recordings
4. When I try to play I get a:
"could not open stream 'myth://10.1.1.52:6543/........

Now, why is it trying to stream from .52 and not from .54 ??????

The recording is probably recorded on a machine with the IP 10.1.1.52. As there can be multiple backends, MythTv marks each recording with the IP of the backend it is recorded on. If you change the machines IP, this screws up things.

It is possible to override it in MythTv Player such that it opens all recordings from the specified main backend.
Go into the preferences and find the "Open all recordings from main backend".

Did this help?
