Subject: Can't find audio stream
Hi all,

I am trying out MythTv Player to view my MythTv recordings (and if I can get it to work live TV).  I am running
Windows Vista 32 bit home premium on my laptop and running Mythbuntu 8.04 on a separate box.  I can connect to the box alright as I can see the recordings etc but when I try to open a recording it pauses for a period and then an error box comes up saying 'can't find audio stream'.  The recordings are in HD and I am trying to stream them over a 802.11g wireless network (56Mbs).  I also noticed that some of the recordings don't give this error so I'm not sure if it is a codec issue.  Attached is part of the log file which might help.  Any suggestions for more info or anything would be great.

I have the same issue.
But I think it is simply the fact that 802.11g does not have enough bandwidth to carry the HD stream.
If I use wired 100Mb ethernet it works as it should.
I have read that 802.11n should have enough bandwidth, but all my gear is 802.11g.

The interesting lines from the log file is
08:05:52 Demuxer: Stream [0], Type='Video', Codec='H264'(id=28)
08:05:52 Demuxer: Stream [1], Type='Subtitle', Codec='DVB_SUBTITLE'(id=94209)
What is say is that it can find video and subtitles, but no audio. This is probably because because the ffmpeg library used in the player have to be updated to a newer version. Unfortunately I kind of stopped development as I do not even have a mythtv server anymore.. (Makes it a bit hard to test).. But the problem would probably be solved by by a ffmpeg upgrade

Hi there,

It's a very bad news that you stopped the developpement and not use Mythtv anymore.  I hope someone will take the source code and continue your great project.

thanks!
I hope so someone will pick up the development at some point. I got a lot of great feedback by mail and the website got ~400 unique hits a day so it really seems like the player is in use out there.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the word out that development help is needed?  It would seem that a project like this one, that has been ongoing for some time, should be interesting to the right person.  Personally, I use the program nearly daily and would hate to see it die.
