Black Screen with Mythtv Player 0.4.2

Subject: Black Screen with Mythtv Player 0.4.2
I installed Mythtv Player 0.4.2 on Windows XP.  When I start Mythtv Player, I get the controls and a black screen.  If I right-click on the black screen, I get the options, but if I look at recordings, everything is empty.  I know that the Mythtv Backend is configured correctly because I can use the Frontend on my linux system and watch all my videos.  Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Have you restarted your Mythtv system after the install of Mythplayer?  Sometimes I get a blank recording stream if it's having trouble connecting to the mythbackend system, and a reboot will sometimes put things back in order.
