Just a line to say what a nice piece of work mythplayer is - You don't seem to have many plaudits, so here is one.  Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Subject: Nice work
I'll add my two bits as well...

Trying to introduce MythTv to a "you're adding another piece of junk in the living room?" household...  :)  MythTV Player looks like a good attack point - a temporary connection from my laptop to the main A/V setup will help demonstrate what Myth can do - hopefully, some careful prodding will help my wife see the "big picture".  (Pun intended.)  I might try this on her tomorrow night...

A funny note - while testing everything, I had the season finale of Lost, recorded in HDTV, playing over a gigabit LAN to my laptop, output via S-Video through an RCA converter into a VCR, then RF out of the VCR to a 20-year-old 2.5" black-and-white battery-powered TV.   Talk about "backwards-compatible"...  :)  Nothing like HDTV at 2.5"...

Thanks for the great piece of software.

MythTV totally changed the way I watched TV, and then the MythTV Player totally changed the way I watched MythTV XD. I managed to get my sister a MythTV box and set her up with the player and she loves it. The player works on any machine with a halfway decent processor with a half decent network connection. Ya know what would be great though? LiveTV ;) I'd kill for that feature.

Thanks a lot guys. It always means a lot to get feedback!

I have started work on livetv, but it still needs a lot of work. I surely will post a message when it is ready for the first testing.
but I got a lovely daughter 7 days ago, so to say it mildly my time at the computer is limited.... or let's say NULL :)
Let's see how much time I get when the my lives gets more stable, but do not expect miracles at the current time ;)

Thanks for the great program, and congrats on the new daughter!  I used my MythTV even more after my daughter was born.  Those late night feeding sessions are much more tolerable with something other then infomercials to watch!
