Subject: Changing Sources
Hi,

It is nice to see the live tv feature working.  I just upgraded my three backends (was a major undertaking, so it took a while to start using schedules direct finally).  In any case, I now can use my hdhomerun, which is set as source 1 for recording HD.  The problem is that I don't necessarily want to wathc live tv in HD (usually I'm using a wireless laptop, so bandwidth is an issue).  Did I miss something, or is there no way to change sources right now?  I'd love to be able to tell the program either what source to use when playing, or at least pick a default in the prefs (I have 3 sources, so I'd love to be able to pick sources 2 or 3 before source 1 (or 4 once I get the second HDHomerun output working).

Other than that, it is a great program.  I saw some crashes with HD live playback, so that's why I'd rather stick to SD for now...

In the bottom of the livetv screen there is a field where you can choose the preferred recorder. The player will use this recorder if it is free. (Currently, you can only choose a single preferred one. I hope to make a GUI such that you can prioritize them at some point.)
You mention sources. Is this the same a recorders/tuners?

I am sure how the player handles multiple backends, so this might be the problem in your case. Could you mail me the log.txt file such that I can see how it is detected. Can you see all your recorders in the drop-down box where you choose the preferred recorder?

Thanks for the answer.  what I would like is something akin to the "y" key where I can switch tuners.  The second problem is that I can only see the listings for the HD tuners, so If I want to watch the SD channels, I can't see those channels.

I'd venture that a possible solution is to show the channel listing like MythWeb and then select the tuner based on what channel the users chooses...

I'll send you the log.txt file soon.

Thanks a lot!

I would really like to see the log file. The list of channels should contain ALL channels. It fetches  channels for all recorders and merges it into a single list.

Hi,

Here's the log file finally.  For the recorded, it works very well.  High Def recordings have to be streamed via cable (802.11g is not fast enough), but I'm pretty happy with it.  Have not used live tv too much since I had issues originally.

BTW, the errors on the log from the backend not finding a remote backend are because of something else (something happened to those recordings on that particular backend)  It had nothing to do with the player

Hi Art,

It seems like you did not enable livetv before sending the log file. This means that there is no information about channels and recorders in the log. Could you enable livetv and send it again?
